Eero Saarinen abides!

Recently, I came upon a darling Eero Saarinen Magis Puppy in a friend's Chairish.com shop. You know this guy? Covet, covet, covet, but no buy, buy, buy. For now. Training Razzle Bedazzle, the baby terrier, is enough.

Saarinen has long been one of my most favorite designers, and it seems there has

been a confluence of his work in my life of late. Just a few months ago, we crossed

paths in the most serendipitous way of all.

Traveling through Mountain City, TN, to some unknown hike with a most handsome man, I spotted 4 Tulip chairs. They were sitting in someone’s driveway as part of a yard sale. Authentic Knoll, 1950’s, NY manufacturer marker, true Eero Saarinen chairs. Can you believe it? I couldn’t! They needed some TLC, did not have cushions, but oh my gosh. Snagged them for $80 – crazy!

Did y'all know that Trans World Airlines is opening its revamped flight center at JFK?

(Saarinen was the original designer back in 1962.) I was thrilled to learn that in the spring of 2019, TWA's retro-hotel will make its debut.

The pictures will make you drool!

Seeing this is good reason alone for this Southern gal to travel north! My carry on is packed.
