Humboldt Redwoods State Park

The California Redwoods.

When I first met them, a mere 26 days ago, I lost my breath. There was such an overwhelming feeling of awe, majesty, beauty, and most powerfully, benevolence. I felt their life - literally - as living entities that could wrap their arms around me, just like I wrapped mine around one, leaning in, heart first.

There are those rare moments of peace, in between the mind's committee meetings. I was given that and it has made an indelible mark on my being - a place I can return to for remembrance of the simple elegance of Mother Nature. She is the true artist.
